My formal training was in commercial design at Hornsey School of Art (now part of Middlesex University) and then textiles at the London College of Fashion. A trip to New Orleans and a visit to my very first quilt show in 1974 sparked off my enduring passion for fabric construction and embellishment.
As well as working on commissions from my studio at home, I taught City & Guilds Certificate and Diploma in Embroidery, Patchwork and Quilty, and elements of design in adult education centres for over 18 years. I also lecture, give workshops and judge at many UK wide events.
